Invitation letter and program of the House

Dear Friends,

Since many years the House of Missionary spirituality "Emmaus", besides being a Christian presence among Muslims, intends to serve the Christian Community in Bogra and beyond Bogra. It is also well known that both this particular presence in the town, and these services within the Catholic Community, were linked in a special way to the person of Fr. Achille Boccia, who has been asked to return to Italy for a few years  of service. In place of him and of the CIC Sisters, who have been present at Emmaus for about one year, Fr. Carlo Dotti (as Rector of the House), and Fr. Francis Rapacioli have been posted to Bogra.

After having discussed the matter during the first meeting of the new PIME Regional Council, we have decided to write this circular letter in order to re-launch this specific service to the local Church.

In particular, for the year 2000, we intend to offer the following possibilities:

- Five annual Retreats or Spiritual Exercises, to be held from Monday evening to Saturday evening in the months of March (13-18); May (15-20); July (10-15); September (11-16); November (13-18). Frs. Pinos, Bozzini, Galimberti, Martinelli and Rapacioli will lead the meditations of these Retreats. The language will be Bengali, apart from the Retreat of November (in English). If you want to take part in these Retreats please do contact us beforehand.

- A monthly Recollection, to be held on the second Friday of every month from February to November (Feb. 11; March 10; April 14; May 12; June 9; July 7*; Aug. 11; Sept. 8; Oct. 13; Nov. 10).

Besides these "guided" spiritual events, Priests, Sisters, Lay People and Families are most welcome to come and spend a few hours or a few days at Emmaus, in prayer and silence, both individually and as a group.
